That’s what Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty wants you to believe. Don’t expect new morsels of information in her quote on AllThingsD, though. Huberty speculated that the total cost of ownership for the next-generation iPhone will be lower and the device may come with gesture-based features, but did not go into specifics for the latter.
John Paczkowski from AllThingsD suggested that Huberty may be referring to some of the recent patent filings. These include a touch-sensitive bezel and camera-based controls. The latter presumably lets users manage calls simply by swiping their digits over the camera lens and navigate applications with a variety of motion gestures.
There’s nothing ground-breaking here, but given Apple’s track record for the user interface, the company may just take usability on a smartphone to the next level.
