With this year’s CES event behind us, Sony has announced a new platform for its mobile gaming. The successor to the Playstation Portable is this new PlayStation Vita or in short, PS Vita. For those who are curious, “Vita” means “Life” in Latin, and the people at Sony believed it was the suitable name for the next generation portable entertainment system.This new system revolutionizes mobile gaming as it combines social connectivity and gaming within a real world context. The top key feature is its 5-inch multi-touch organic light emitting diode (OLED) front display and also a multi-touch pad on the rear of the system.
Sony will be releasing two models with one only Wi-Fi enabled retailing for ¥24,980 in Japan, $249 in the U.S. and €249 in Europe; the 3G/Wi-Fi model will be available for ¥29,980 in Japan, $299 in the U.S. and €299 in Europe.
