Although it is only a rumor at this point, sources say that Sony will be releasing the fourth generation of the Playstation gaming console in 2012. With over 50 million units sold, the PS3 was released back in 2006, which may suggest we are due for a new system. According to Digitimes, production by Foxconn and Pegatron Technology (assemblers of the PS3) is set for the end of this year. The system is said to feature body movement-based controls, similar to the Kinect. The planned shipment volume of PS4 in 2012 is at least 20 million units, as sources indicate.
