Check out the new eco-mini-ride. General Motors has taken to the streets with its Electric Networked-Vehicle, or — wait for it — EN-V. It’s a crazy futuristic two-wheeled pod vehicle developed with Segway, and it looks perfect for supervillains zooming around volcano lairs zapping people. Without damaging the environment, naturally. This is something of a Cat-woman’s car. Of all the automakers in the world – and by the world, we mean the world outside the United States – Citroen’s design arguably runs the gamut more than any other’s. On the one hand, you’ve got cheap, compact and quirky hatchbacks like the comically named Revolte concept revealed in Frankfurt half a year back. On the other, you’ve got the GTbyCitroen, an extreme exotic supercar concept, now slated for limited production. In between lies a gorge as big as, well, France itself. But the chevron-emblazoned automaker has bridged the divide this year in Geneva with an intriguing concept called the Survolt. (more…)

Chea out this Steering Wheel MP3 Kit, not only does it offer hands-free chat via the wireless headset, but also contains a phonebook and FM transmitter for sending your cool sounds to your car stereo. We’re a little dubious about the merits of a keypad. If it’s for dialing a number we can think of a couple of tricky issues that could arise at speed in the fast lane. $48.00. (more…)

This looks like a meaner version of a Camaro. Earlier today, the folks from Exodus Pictures – a Michigan-based film studio – officially unveiled the FireBreather, a Camaro-based creation built in collaboration with Classic Design Concepts of Novi, Michigan. The one-off Camaro was designed by Ajmal Ahmad, the writer and director of the upcoming sci-fi film Jinn, in which the FireBreather will make its big screen debut. (more…)

I remember hydrogen fuel was just an idea in the 90’s and everyone thought it was a fad but it turns out to still make noise in the new millenium. Welcome to one magnificent looking BMW concept bike. It’s white, it’s blue, it’s black, it’s beautiful, and it’s hydrogen powered. That’s for realzies. Executed by several students of the ISD of Valenciennes (France), made lovely by a vision for the ecological future of motorbikes. Technologies abound, the “BMW HP Kunst” employs a cryogenic hydrogen tank, battery Li-Po, electronical brakes and controls, and electromagnetic suspensions. (more…)

Like GM’s Puma and a slew of other personal mobility concepts before it, Honda’s three-wheeled 3R-C is all about getting one person around in style. As a “pod car,” it’s nice and small and would run entirely off lithium batteries. It also has space for storage in the front, and its clear canopy mysteriously shifts into a windshield to offer the driver more forward visibility. (more…)

The Bugatty Phone (that’s right, it’s “Bugatty” not Bugatti like the famed sports car maker, totally different obviously) is a real car phone. Sitting on your desk it would be practically indistinguishable from a toy model car. But flip it over and you can see that it’s a real cell phone. (more…)

The Mercedes-Benz F800 Style concept car that’ll debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month is highly-touted by Mercedes-benz’s press release scribes for its green-car tech, but what’s probably of greater interest to most of you is its styling, which is everyone’s first peek at what the next-generation CLS-Class sedan is going to look like. To that end, get ready for a nose section whose grille apes that of the SLS AMG, plus enough flame-surfaced bodywork to make one envision Chris Bangle, sporting a set of Groucho glasses to mask his true identity, clandestinely moonlighting at Benz. (more…)

Though it proudly sports a chrome Tesla Motors logo on its nose, the Geneva-bound EYE concept pictured above was not penned by that California company’s designers. Not directly anyway. That credit goes to 11 transportation design master course students at the Istituto Europeo di Design of Turin (IED). That’s not to say Tesla Motors wasn’t involved in the effort, though. (more…)

The raging torrent of pre-Geneva Motor Show leaks is officially in full effect today as a series of images showing off Bertone’s new Alfa Romeo Pandion Concept have hit the Interwebs (thanks Unica-Strada!) First of all, what the heck is a Pandion? Simple: a type genus of the Pandionidae. Mmm hmm. That’d be an osprey, sometimes known as a fish hawk. Moving on, then. (more…)
