Chea out this Steering Wheel MP3 Kit, not only does it offer hands-free chat via the wireless headset, but also contains a phonebook and FM transmitter for sending your cool sounds to your car stereo. We’re a little dubious about the merits of a keypad. If it’s for dialing a number we can think of a couple of tricky issues that could arise at speed in the fast lane. $48.00.

    Bugatty Phonehttp://gizmoave.com/2010/02/23/bugatty-phone/ http://gizmoave.com/2010/02/23/bugatty-phone/#comments Tue, 23 Feb 2010 19:12:02 +0000 admin http://gizmoave.com/?p=2940 bugatty-car-phone

The Bugatty Phone (that’s right, it’s “Bugatty” not Bugatti like the famed sports car maker, totally different obviously) is a real car phone. Sitting on your desk it would be practically indistinguishable from a toy model car. But flip it over and you can see that it’s a real cell phone.

It might be real but it’s still a cheap novelty phone the likes of which hasn’t really been seen since the Sports Illustrated football phone (yours free with any subscription). The phone costs about $185 here and is made by “China Mobile”. It runs on the GSM network at 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz and has a 2.4 inch touch screen, 1.3 MP camera, FM radio, bluetooth, MP3 compatible, and dual SIM capability.

    Cadillac 3G Routerhttp://gizmoave.com/2009/03/23/cadillac-3g-router/ http://gizmoave.com/2009/03/23/cadillac-3g-router/#comments Mon, 23 Mar 2009 16:12:24 +0000 Salman Khan http://gizmoave.com/?p=2196 autonetmobilecadillac

    By Evan Ackerman

We’re running out of places to hide from the internet, and cars are the latest casualty. Starting next month, Cadillac will offer an option for a dealer installed 3G wireless router in their CTS Sport sedans. You can expect typical 3G download speeds (supposedly 400-800 kbps but your mileage may vary), and if no 3G is available, you’ll be lucky to see 200 kbps. The router itself cost about $500, $450 of which probably gets sunk into that Cadillac logo.

The service is actually being offered through a company called Autonet Mobile. It costs about $30 for 1 gig a month, or about $60 for 5 gigs a month… There doesn’t seem to be any unlimited plan. A gig a month is just about enough for you to check email, download attachments, maybe listen to the occasional song. But personally, I hate having to worry about caps. And with so many mobile devices with unlimited data plans out there, what’s the appeal of having a piece of hardware that’s restricted in bandwidth AND restricted in location? I guess maybe the idea is, if you’re buying a new Cadillac, things like “cost effectiveness” just aren’t that high up on your list of priorities.

BMW Intelligent Learning Navigation Systemhttp://gizmoave.com/2009/02/26/bmw-ilena/ http://gizmoave.com/2009/02/26/bmw-ilena/#comments Thu, 26 Feb 2009 19:54:35 +0000 Salman Khan http://gizmoave.com/?p=2154 BMW Intelligent Learning Navigation System
BMW is always at the forefront of vehicle technology and their latest contribution would be Intelligent Learning Navigation System (ILENA), where the system will learn your (bad) driving habits as well as daily routes in order to assist you better when it comes to navigation and fuel economy. It looks as though ILENA functions via Bluetooth connectivity or a docked handset, but drivers have the choice of an onscreen user select mode as well. ILENA will be able to adjust your seating preferences and rear view mirror once it recognizes you, displaying the best way and method of driving to get to your destination even before you manage to back out from your garage. Apparently ILENA is 80% accurate despite being in its development stages – we shudder to think that when it is fully operational, it will run for President in 2012.

    Never get caught Speeding again (cameras)http://gizmoave.com/2008/11/11/mini-coyote/ http://gizmoave.com/2008/11/11/mini-coyote/#comments Wed, 12 Nov 2008 04:45:48 +0000 Salman Khan http://gizmoave.com/?p=1221

Everybody hates being caught by speed cameras: it is annoying, humiliating and also expensive, and that is why Novus have come up with the “Mini Coyote” which allows drivers to alert others of speed cameras in as little as three seconds. The little gadget will sit on your dashboard, and when you spot a speed camera that isn’t already in the database you press the handy button and before you know it everyone with that gadget knows of it.

“Brilliant!” I hear you cry, finally a way to beat those money grabbing machines, which it does quite effectively. Although this idea isn’t new, the super speed at which it does it allows the community of users to quickly build up a good idea of where all the speed traps are due to the fact that it only takes 3 seconds. The little gadget will then tell you if you are approaching any speed cameras, your speed, and will tell you to slow down if you are going too fast thus avoiding a fine.

So this is great, and this is gadget is brilliant at what it does, but is this good? Firstly, this isn’t legal, per se, as it is against the law to warn another driver of an upcoming speed trap. Although this is in place to stop people putting signs up telling motorists, this will fall under it, and although you are virtually guaranteed not to get caught, it is still a very gray area.

So if you can face breaking the law, you still have a few moral crevasses to jump the first addressing the fact that speed traps are there for a purpose. They are there to act as a deterrent, thus slowing people down to the speed limit so as to save lives. So although you may be able to control your speed, can someone who knows that there are no cameras do it? Is it not immoral to give an idiot that will go on that road later the information that there are no speed cameras there and that they can speed without being caught? The answer to that is yes, it probably is.

So will you buy this? It does its job very well, and if you speed regularly, this is for you. But should you buy it? Are you not bypassing laws that are there for a purpose? And bear in mind that the money in speeding fines goes to the government, which uses it for things like benefits, the fire service and charity. So personally, I wouldn’t get it, and it is up to your conscience to decide, but I am sure that if you do there will be plenty of taxi drivers with it that will help you fill up the database.

This lean, mean in-car audio streaming machine connects all your Bluetoothed mobile devices simultaneously. What does that mean? It means that once you are in your car, your cell phone, mp3 player, and navigation device all becomes one.

    The Remote Control Hand Sign for Drivershttp://gizmoave.com/2008/11/01/hand-sign-for-drivers/ http://gizmoave.com/2008/11/01/hand-sign-for-drivers/#comments Sat, 01 Nov 2008 13:57:21 +0000 Salman Khan http://gizmoave.com/?p=775

You are driving, the guy behind you is honking your ears off. What would you do? Nothing much but fantasize about punching some one in the face. Fear not friends, this is where this tool comes handy. The Hand R/C Window sign is basically a digital sign that you stick on your rear window. And you can edit different signs using a tiny remote control. So that honking-crazy driver can now get a taste of what you are actually feeling about him. The signs are assorted for relevant emotions. Happy driving!
