The new Eee PC T101MT 10.1 inch LED backlit resistive touchscreen notebook computer was first shown at this year’s CES in Las Vegas and was known about even before that. Now ASUS has made things official with a product website, confirming that it will ship with an Intel Atom N450 processor, up to 2Gb RAM and a choice of 160Gb or 320Gb hard drive. There are eInk eBook readers and there are tablet PCs, but as yet they’re pretty much separate gadgets. The Entourage Edge promises to shake things up a bit by wearing two hats, possibly more. It’s an eBook reader, tablet or netbook PC, media player and video capable VoIP device. It’s designed to be used in schools as a replacement for textbooks but I’m pretty sure schools won’t be the only customers. (more…)

Word is around that netbook’s makers are still confused on which operating system would be the best for their devices. UK electronics retailer Dixons just got the memo that slim is in, and its taken it to heart. The store is on the verge of launching two new PCs as part of its Advent brand — and the 13.3-inch CULV Altro line is pretty sexy looking. Already drawing the obvious comparisons to the MacBook Air in the looks department, the Altro boasts an Intel Celeron CPU, 3GB of RAM, and a 120GB hard drive, WiFi, Bluetooth, plus USB and HDMI ports, and one multifunction connector for hooking up an external port replicator.
