Google recently bought a company called Aadvark. I was wondering what it was all about and finally found Aadvark listed as a part of Google Labs. It has a simple system. Ask a question and someone will answer the question. Aardvark will fit someone who will answer the question. It also means with Aardvark you can answer some of the questions people are asking.

The world’s biggest social network has revealed details of a stripped-down, text-only version of its mobile site called Facebook Zero. Stumped by foreign languages when you’re traveling? Google Inc. is working on software that translates text captured by a phone camera.

Borislav Agapiev has $50,000 in computer hardware, 25 engineers in his native Serbia and a firm belief that millions of people will lend him their computers and privacy for the purpose of searching the web. That’s enough to take on Google.

As more and more sites rely on large amounts of Ajax and Javascript programming — Gmail, Facebook and Google Docs being just three examples — browsers need to be able to process and render it faster than ever. This is an area Chrome has almost exclusively dominated since its inception last year, so we’ll look at that first. (more…)

Gesture-recognition technology, such as that seen in Project Natal, has changed the face of gaming, but Microsoft’s Craig Mundie (pictured) believes it will also transform the office.
In a demo at Microsoft’s financial analyst meeting in Redmond, Washington, the company’s top research and strategy officer showed how the desktop computer of the future will use an entire office as both display and input device, with voice and gesture control augmenting the use of a number of touchscreens.
