Brother Brother Entrepreneur Pro PR 1000 Sewing Machine Features Built in Camera and ScannerThe Brother Entrepreneur Pro PR-1000 is the world’s first 10-needle embroidery machine with built-in camera-like technology, low-cost digital garment printer, and the first sewing machine with built-in scanner that can help anyone start their own version of Project Runway or Fashion Show.

Tech Features Include:
o    New InnovaChrome LED Color Thread System: Underneath each thread spool is a full color LED light which mimics the color of the thread that belongs on the spool, eliminating any guesswork. Coupled with audio cues, the system allows an embroiderer to limit their supervision of the machine.
o    Eyelet Threading System: No more tangles! Each needle can be threaded with the touch of a button.
o    InnovEye Technology and Up-Close Viewer: It’s like having a built-in camera above the needle. This user-friendly interface is the same that is in the popular Quattro® 6000D, which was recently awarded a 2010 iF Communication Design Award—a reliable indicator of quality in design.
o    Five full spectrum LED lights: Each light is equivalent to seven standard LED lamps, which is like having 35 lights shining directly onto the work area.
o    Ability to link multiple machines with PE-DESIGN NEXT: Have the convenience of managing the work of four machines through one interface when using the newest embroidery software, PE-DESIGN NEXT. This is great when there is a need to stitch out several pieces with the same design at the same time or when an embroiderer needs each machine to stitch out different designs at different speeds simultaneously.

You can check out the Entrepreneur Pro PR-1000 in action on Brother’s website but be sure to have a pair of 3D glasses handy as their video presentation of the machine is in 3D.
Lastly when the machine launched in Europe earlier this year the price tag was around £7999.00 (USD $12,500).  There are a few sewing stores that are selling it already but you’ll have to inquire about the price.  Perhaps just buying clothes or needlepoint pillows at Pier 1 would be cheaper…

Install a sun in your househttp://gizmoave.com/2010/03/25/install-a-sun-in-your-house/ http://gizmoave.com/2010/03/25/install-a-sun-in-your-house/#comments Thu, 25 Mar 2010 17:57:39 +0000 Salman Khan http://gizmoave.com/?p=3469 sun-light

Now you can install a sun in your house, minus the scorching heat ofcourse. Little darling, it’s been a long cold lonely winter. Little darling, it feels like years since it’s been here. Here comes the sun, here comes the sun. And I say it’s alright. Even if it’s made of Swarovski crystals. Stella is one of those lights that make me want to have a giant house with giant ceilings, a gigantic disco ball shining with light of a billion suns. OK, maybe just a few lamps here and there, but amazingly beautiful anyway. It was designed by Tokujin Yoshioka for the Swarovski Crystal Palace, and it will be available for public enjoyment at Milan’s Design Week 2010.

Bloom Chairhttp://gizmoave.com/2010/03/24/bloom-chair/ http://gizmoave.com/2010/03/24/bloom-chair/#comments Wed, 24 Mar 2010 20:23:47 +0000 Salman Khan http://gizmoave.com/?p=3459 bloomchair-1

This is something out of a Star Trek episode. In the endless pursuit of the perfect chair, Korean designer Eerang Park has created a simple yet elegant chair. Using just eight folded steel plates at 35-degree angles, the chair looks light, yet is said to be sturdy. If a freestanding Roman arch can work, I guess this structure can be sound as well. How comfortable the chair is remains to be seen. If there’s a lightning storm anywhere nearby, well, consider moving to the futon.

Check out the gallery to see how the chair is put together.

Butterflies effect via trashed beer canshttp://gizmoave.com/2010/03/22/trashed-beer-cans-butterflies/ http://gizmoave.com/2010/03/22/trashed-beer-cans-butterflies/#comments Mon, 22 Mar 2010 15:39:03 +0000 Salman Khan http://gizmoave.com/?p=3439 butteryflies-beer-cans-8

Here is a beautiful butterflies effect using trashed beer cans, eww, but it looks so cute. When you take a close look at a beer can, you may notice that they have a really nice arc to them. Artist Paul Villinski has taken that same arc and turned it into butterflies in flight.  Rescuing crushed beer cans from the streets of New York City, Williams carefully cuts each can and creates a marvelous fluttering array. He states that similar to the life of a butterfly, his process is representative of a cultural conversion all its own exploring “themes of transformation and recovery through metamorphosis.

Piano hidden in a tablehttp://gizmoave.com/2010/02/26/piano-table/ http://gizmoave.com/2010/02/26/piano-table/#comments Fri, 26 Feb 2010 17:20:30 +0000 Salman Khan http://gizmoave.com/?p=3112 piano-table

Now this is something that belongs in Bruce Wayne’s den: a piano hidden in an innocent looking table.

Pianos are wonderful instruments, but they’re also bulky. You need to dedicate a pretty serious amount of space to them, so they’re tough to fit in small apartments.

This amazing Piano Table solves that problem by hiding a piano inside a handsome table. Designed by Georg Bohle, it’s perfect as a kitchen or dining room table. When you want to play, just clear the plates off, open the lid, and go nuts. It can be yours now for $6,000.

The Refrigerator With USBhttp://gizmoave.com/2010/02/23/the-refrigerator-with-usb/ http://gizmoave.com/2010/02/23/the-refrigerator-with-usb/#comments Tue, 23 Feb 2010 19:00:29 +0000 admin http://gizmoave.com/?p=2935 fridge-with-usb

KitchenAid, always looking to be innovative in their products, like the Briva in-sink dishwasher, has added a new refrigerator to their appliance lineup. What makes this refrigerator innovative? It contains a built in USB port, among other tech amenities like a full color LCD screen and LED lighting.

You might ask, why does a refrigerator need a USB port? The USB port, according to KitchenAid, is for loading images. While we are not sure how often we would use this, we do appreciate the other features of this refrigerator like the full color LCD screen. The LCD screen serves a variety of purposes including care and use information, a kitchen timer, information on ingredient substitutions and measurement conversions. Other tech forward features of this French Door bottom freezer refrigerator include LED lighting which efficiently illuminates the interior.

In addition to the looks, and tech features of this refrigerator, we also love the in-door water and ice system which provides precise measurement of water for use as a cooking and baking ingredient, in addition to providing filtered water and ice. We think this would come in handy when cooking and baking by providing one less ingredient we would have to measure. Of course, like many of the competitors of this refrigerator, there are individually sealed storage compartments including a pantry compartment with an independent temperature control and a crisper with extra gaskets for perfect sealing and humidity control.

This new refrigerator will be available starting in April at a suggested retail price of $2,800. For more information, see KitchenAid.
