A Wrench Necklacehttp://gizmoave.com/2011/05/26/a-wrench-necklace/ http://gizmoave.com/2011/05/26/a-wrench-necklace/#comments Thu, 26 May 2011 05:27:32 +0000 admin http://gizmoave.com/?p=3743 The makers of this necklace say it’s a “Honeycomb pendant with cord.” But we all know what we’re looking at: a set of four wrenches that hangs around your neck. It fits 8, 10, 12, and 14mm bolts. And in my opinion, $55 for a set of four wrenchesand a necklace is a pretty good bargain. [Blend Creations]

Mini IQ Cube Flash Drive is the Easiest Rubik’s Cube Everhttp://gizmoave.com/2010/12/15/mini-iq-cube-flash-drive-is-the-easiest-rubik%e2%80%99s-cube-ever/ http://gizmoave.com/2010/12/15/mini-iq-cube-flash-drive-is-the-easiest-rubik%e2%80%99s-cube-ever/#comments Wed, 15 Dec 2010 13:04:36 +0000 chris b. http://technabob.com/blog/?p=45074 How quickly can you solve a Rubik’s cube? Don’t worry, it’s been a while since I’ve even attempted such a feat. I’d like to think that over the last few years my problem-solving skills have increased exponentially, and that I can tackle one in mere seconds. However, I really don’t want to find out that I’ve only gotten worse. I think I’ll just stick with this USB Mini IQ Cube Flash Drive.

Some people might argue that they’ve taken all of the challenge out of the Rubik’s Cube. Me? I say that they’ve only gotten rid of the frustration. Only one cube rotates, and it only goes 90-degrees and back. This serves to extend and retract the USB connector that you’ll need to insert into your computer if you want to take advantage of the 2GB-8GB of storage contained within. You can grab one for as little as $17.

The USB Mini IQ Cube Flash Drive from Brando certainly is modeled off of of the original Rubik’s Cube design. Heck, its squares even rotate 90 degrees. Available in 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB capacities this is another USB flash drive you don’t need, but you’ll want to have anyway. Nintendo 3DS shockerhttp://gizmoave.com/2010/03/23/nintendo-3ds-shocker/ http://gizmoave.com/2010/03/23/nintendo-3ds-shocker/#comments Tue, 23 Mar 2010 08:31:37 +0000 admin http://gizmoave.com/?p=3451 nintendo3ds

This came out of nowhere. Nintendo has just slipped out a press release in Japan informing the world that all-new 3D-capable portable hardware is coming, with a full unveiling set for E3 2010 this June. Tentatively titled the 3DS, this glasses-free 3D wonder is pitched as the successor to both the DS and DSi, and will use a “compatible cart” that should ensure backwards compatibility with your vast library of favorites from the older consoles. Nintendo expects to launch the 3DS into retail “during the fiscal year ending March 2011.”

Dragonflye DF1 – Rocket Helicopterhttp://gizmoave.com/2010/03/16/rocket-helicopter/ http://gizmoave.com/2010/03/16/rocket-helicopter/#comments Tue, 16 Mar 2010 18:27:56 +0000 Salman Khan http://gizmoave.com/?p=3365 rocket_powered_helicopter

Yes, there is no engine installed on the Dragonfly DF1, but rather tiny hydrogen peroxide rockets at the tip of each blade. Reportedly, “it can stay aloft for 50 minutes and has a maximum speed of 40 mph.” Video after the break.

Rather than being powered by a conventional engine, someone decided that it would be a good idea to install itty bitty rocket engines on the tips of the blades of this helicopter to power it. And the really scary part is that it works. Very well, in fact. The hydrogen peroxide rockets (the same things that power most jetpacks) produce no pollution and are supposed to be significantly more stable than their conventional counterparts due to the lack of, um, an engine. In fact, there’s really nothing to the helicopter at all apart from a seat and some big fuel tanks. Called the Dragonfly, it can stay aloft for 50 minutes and has a maximum speed of 40 mph. The Dragonfly has completed a successful series of flight tests and obtained its airworthiness certificate last November, so it’s currently on track to be for sale sometime this year.

This is actually not the craziest thing you can do with a rocket propelled airfoil. The craziest thing is to use model rocket engines, one blade, and then just forget the rest of the helicopter.

We do admit, however, that the Wii has gotten many couch potatoes off the couch in some ways, and while that won’t make you the biggest loser (after the reality show) in your family, it does burn a wee bit more calories than just sitting around, thumbing that joypad. Well, the Wii Balance Board Push Up Bar takes things one step further by functioning as a push up bar attachment on your balance board, featuring adjustable grips that let you “go deeper than you would if the floor stopped you.” Compatible with Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus as well as the New U Fitness and Jillian Fitness Ultimatum titles, this uniqe gaming accessory is going for $25 on Amazon as a pre-order.

Features:
