This system uses 2 3/4″ spherical, wireless speakers that operate on a wide 915 MHz frequency that won’t interfere with other wireless devices. Each 3-watt speaker produces clear, vibrant sound up to 120′ away from the dock. The dock accepts most iPod models and transmits music to both speakers, which serve as stereo speakers when both are listened to in the same room (mono when used separately). The dock has a 3.5 mm audio jack that allows you to plug in external audio sources, such as a TV, radio, or other music player. Each speaker has a built-in rechargeable battery that allows for up to eight hours of operation from a two-hour charge. Dock plugs into AC.

These “CupSpeakers” from designer Dmitry Zagga are MacGyverific. With nothing more than a large disposable drinking cup, a couple of toothpicks, and the included iPod earbuds, Zagga has constructed a sleek, cheap, and easy speaker system for his iPod. He claims the volume increase is “significant,” and his photography makes this self-aware DIY project look like something straight out of a Steve Jobs PowerPoint.

The toothpicks hold the cups together, and a small hole at the base of the top cup holds an earbud. The sound is magnified due to the shape of the cup, not any fancy-schmancy “electronics.” It may not compete with, you know, real speakers, but Dmitry’s got a good sense of humor about him and it looks like a fun project for the incredibly bored.

Well, when it comes to price, it sure is. The 8GB Sanza Fuze costs $129 whereas the all new 8GB iPod Touch goes for $229. Let’s see what Sanza Fuze has to offer minus the touchscreen. The Sandisk Sansa Fuza is a small player, it is size is 1.9 inches thick and has a 220 x 176 pixel resolution. It’s compatible with Audible media files, JPEG, MP3, WAV, and WMA files. So that means that you have no annoying iTunes to deal with. To update the Fuze, a microSD/microSDHC port is placed on the left side for all your images, music, and video transfer. That’s not all; it also has a FM radio and a built-in voice recorder. You can get one (Fuze 2GB) for as cheap as $79.
