Rumor: Sony Plans Playstation 4 for 2012http://gizmoave.com/2011/07/06/rumor-sony-plans-playstation-4-for-2012/ http://gizmoave.com/2011/07/06/rumor-sony-plans-playstation-4-for-2012/#comments Wed, 06 Jul 2011 12:43:51 +0000 J. Orlando http://gizmoave.com/?p=4052

Although it is only a rumor at this point, sources say that Sony will be releasing the fourth generation of the Playstation gaming console in 2012. With over 50 million units sold, the PS3 was released back in 2006, which may suggest we are due for a new system. According to Digitimes, production by Foxconn and Pegatron Technology (assemblers of the PS3) is set for the end of this year. The system is said to feature body movement-based controls, similar to the Kinect. The planned shipment volume of PS4 in 2012 is at least 20 million units, as sources indicate. Stay tuned for more info and updates regarding the Sony Playstation 4.

Bravia HDTV with 500 GBs hits japanhttp://gizmoave.com/2010/03/14/bravia-hdtv-hits-japan/ http://gizmoave.com/2010/03/14/bravia-hdtv-hits-japan/#comments Mon, 15 Mar 2010 04:28:36 +0000 admin http://gizmoave.com/?p=3340 bravia-hdtv

So now I can save “Curb your enthusiasm” episodes on my HDTV, yippy!Sony intro’d some 3D Bravia HDTVs a while back, and while that didn’t really whet our appetite an LCD with built-in storage is always palatable. To be released by Sony Japan, the BX30H is available in in up to 32-inches and packs 500GB of storage — not particularly earth-shattering, but it should prove useful for DVR-ing episodes of The Marriage Ref. [Did we say that? We meant WWE: Raw.] Available in both colors (black and white), this model is, sadly, only available in Japan. For those of us stuck in the states, the BX300 is available in 22- and 32-inch sizes (and only in black). All of the above feature a 100,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, CCFL backlighting, 720p HD resolution, 5.1 channel audio output and more. Yankees can expect to pay $279 for the 22-inch or $419 for the 32-inch, while prices in Japan TBA.

They have already been making such devices to serve the needs of Hollywood and now they are turning their attention to a larger consumer base. No information has been given on the release date of these cameras or the pricing. Tell us what your thoughts are on this and would u see yourself buying one of these.

Sony Cyber-shot TX5 – Waterproof!http://gizmoave.com/2010/02/18/sony-cyber-shot-tx5-waterproof/ http://gizmoave.com/2010/02/18/sony-cyber-shot-tx5-waterproof/#comments Thu, 18 Feb 2010 19:21:21 +0000 Salman Khan http://gizmoave.com/?p=2717 sony-cybershot-tx5-2

Sony’s Cyber-shot line of cameras have always been an excellent option for anyone who uses a camera casually — you know, like taking pictures at parties or on family trips. Now, the electronics giant is teaching its long-running digital camera line a new trick with the Cyber-shot TX5, which boasts the ability to go underwater with you.

You won’t want to take it too deep as it’s only rated for a depth of three meters, though that should be enough for most pools or some fun at the beach. Other than that the TX5 operates as you’d expect, with a 10.2 megapixel sensor, 45 MB of onboard storage and the ability to shoot panoramas and HD video.

Look for the TX5 in March.
